My Knit a versary is February, 7 years in 2009! This also means Katie and I met 7 years ago! Our blogs were right next to one another in the original knit blog ring. We’ve both moved on since then, and are at different addys and I don’t think she is in the blogring anymore??? I know I’m not. haha.
Let’s see what else. OTN - scarf for my brother, chunky baby sweater, and all the old UFOs
Just finished - The Beer sweater (w/ a modified neck so it would work for cans) & calorimetry. Up next - matchy opposites like soakers & matchy opposites like pilot caps for my best friends twins, who are due in March!
Got to TWO knit nights this week, then skipped a diaper shower tonight because it was just TOO much, really. I am going to get in touch with the mom and offer a meal (for freezer or fresh when baby comes) and probably bring diapers then too. Maybe a knit cap? Not sure where my size 8 16" circs are at. . .

I was reading on the Nano Ravelry forum and decided I need a pair of fingerless gloves for this November. I remember it being cold enough last year to finish up my novel sitting in front of the fire all cozy under my favorite blanket, making sure ms. Aa didn’t come too near the heat (and my worries of this will be multiplied this year, as mr. TJ will be mobile anytime now I’m sure). So tonight I cast on and started mitt 1. I have wanted to make myself a pair for a long time, i’m glad it’s happening.
TJ is five months old! It goes so crazy fast. He is a sweetheart. Aa just turned 3, and K’s 8th birthday was this month too. The other two boys have December birthdays.
I couldn’t find a post to go with it, but Joy helped me at knit night earlier this year with the long tail cast on, and I thought I didn’t "get it" at the time. However when I decided to cast on with it for these fingerless mitts all I had to do was look at a photo, copy what I saw with the yarn around the fingers, and I remembered everything she had shown me. Crazy! It is a little wonky, but I am sure i’ll get smoother as I go. And I <3 handknit with it’s little quirks vs. pictureperfect everything. luckily.
near future knitting includes a tassel belt for my sister, finishing the circular baby blanket for baby V (yes, it was baby Z, but she has been born and is a V instead), and a Hug for someone special who is far away.
i’ve also been sewing a lot ! Might as well include that here. I sewed a little vest for L’s halloween costume (Diego-Aa will be Dora. Sweeeet!), a Cinderella book (bought a kit thing on sale a year or more ago) for Aa, A couple of bean bags for Aa, Uhm. I guess that is it, but there is more planned - a ballerina bag for Aa (from a panel purchased by mom *years* ago - must purchase interfacing), a ballerina wall hanging for Aa, a couple of blankets for a sweet unborn baby (flannel is on sale this week, should go get some).

the knitting for him continues!

So whats next? A hat to match the booties & a little sweater if I ever sit down and get it going.

Made a mistake on the July 4th tank last night (because I shouldn’t do anything non-mindless at knit night) and am going back to fix it.
Starting the booties again, on size 2 as the one I knit on a size 1 is tiny. CUTE but tiny. Also found out via ravelry there is an "in the round" adaption for anyone who doesn’t want to do the seaming up, won’t be using this myself, but linking it anyway - http://fleeglesblog.blogspot.com/2007/12/sartjees-fleeglized-bootie.html Changes I will definitely be making - not dealing with the longtail cast on. Found a better solution (and I think it looks cuter too) via ravelry.
Knit night was overwhelming for me, so many people … and I am just so sore all the time these days. From Friday we have 3-6 weeks till baby will likely be here.

I wanted to share all three of the photos I decided to share, but flickr isn’t letting me upload tongiht, so I will just share the one that I put on photo bucket & be done. I need to sleep anyway. . .

I like them, I can only wear one of them on my right foot - it feels funny on my left toes. I didn’t have any issues with the kitchener but I’m not sure it’s as good as it could be, it can only get better though right? I am planning on a toe-up sock next, but I’m not sure what pattern I will use.
Next planned projects - another hat for toby using a chart from that book I got for Christmas (reason : to learn to read charts), the dice bag for my husband (yarn swatched - chose lion suede - must figure out the math part now), and toys for the kids (started A’s horse - felted pattern from crafty alien - need to dig out the yarn for L & K’s dragons (norberta from knitty) and figure out what to knit Jer) . Uhm. Must finish moms shawl by October (that sounds funny to you, but are you having a baby in May? Nope. I am. So really add in the newborn time and see how much knitting time I have left … and let’s not forget that I’m homeschooling a visual-spatial/right brained learner who is a spirited child. Ouch. challenges. Knitting calms me, love the knitting).

So I am still working on that third hat, slow enough for ya???!
Next I have two more hats to do, and my dads hat/scarf for his birthday (the pattern on the Paton’s site using the shetlands chunky in forest green and beige). Picked up the yarn for that today, his birthday is a month from Saturday. I also am still working slooowly on Ari’s poncho. uhm. I should likely go ahead and do the one in the round instead, I love knitting in the round.
Knitpicks for christmas! A book and a few skeins of yarn. Yay.

Once again, combined topics. And a quick late night post. I’m not sure I have readers anyway
Maybe Kat.
Finished - the blue hat I started a couple of weeks ago, finally. I did most of it this week. Just got down to it. The weather being cool and fallish in the mornings helped give me that push I was needing.
Started - the next blue hat, the cast on of 85 seems like it will work well for all the boys. I knit up 6" for the last one before my decreases. Since I finished it, oh a half hour ago ? I have not yet checked if the height will work or not.
Next - This blue hat needs to go a little quicker, i’m hoping to be done in a week. And then I will cast on and knit a bear hat for my friends little boy. I believe he may be wearing it for halloween, unless she decides to do something else. Frugal costumes. Rock. A knit bear hat and brown sweat suit would be quite cute on this little one.
Then I will do the other two hats for my four little ones, and finally a bear hat for my friends other son, to match his baby brothers. And then ?! Who knows.
I want to set goals, but at the same time I just want to knit these things. Long hours at the park under the trees in the breeze on a blanket will be happening now that we finally have some wonderful fall weather.
I know. I’ve mentioned the weather twice in this post already. I’m just SO excited that we get fall this year. I just love this time of year. It’s my favorite. For sure.

#1 knit night rocks. i may be the quietest in the group, but i just love the women i knit with. i can’t wait for them to see ari walking this tuesday - i may even have a couple of the boys with me this tuesday for a bit, because i think cubscouts starts up again.
#2 i finished conor’s sweater! it looks great. pictures soon. and it’ll be in the mail soon too!
#3 i also finished up a gift for my friends brand new baby girl, born thursday. shes a doll, i can’t wait to meet her. i knit a little skirt for her, but i don’t know if it will work size wise. i really want to figure out how to knit it again and size it properly this time because it is very cute.
#4 so thats two things off the needles. i’m still working on that dishcloth, its very much a busy work thing, i don’t do much on it or very often, just taking my time.
#5 whats next? well. hats. for the four children. i have knit picks main line blueberry for the boys and antique rose for aaralyn. no pattern, as is usual for me with hats. i guess its kinda a pattern - in my head
and i may also start the little poncho for aaralyn.

Do not attempt new pattern in the middle of the night, no matter how easy it is, you will get frustrated and find a way to mess it up somehow.
Go to bed.
