I seem to be on a hat kick, I did the baby shower hat, Toby’s blue & white hat, and started a baby bear hat for him too. I do love hat knitting, especially baby hats, but Aaralyn keeps asking if they are for her, so it is only fair that I knit her one next right? I will look and find the cutest toddler hat. ever. Yay ravelry for the pattern searching. I’ll report back (I’ll likely edit this post) with what I decide on.
Speaking of requests from the kids, Lochlan would like a Dragon. Must decide what yarns I have that are suitable and knit the pieces. Putting it together was my least favorite part, but it’ll be okay. For my Lochy.
I found it! THE hat for Aaralyn is this one - http://www.adorabubbleknits.com/pages/sunhat.php

So I was given some of this yarn, and it was nice of the family member who purchased it to think of me when they saw yarn but. Really. I am supposed to knit with this stuff? I started the pocket book slippers (for bellydance class because my toes get cold quick) and quickly pulled it out. I can’t do it. I can’t knit with this. I’m going to see what else i have for those slippers.
YEAH! I found the bag with my "missing" knitting projects. The multi directional scarf for me, and the sweet baby cap, for which I happened to grab a blue yarn for.

FO Baby hat. For a shower this weekend. I want to add pink ribbon, as there is an area of the eyelets where. I. guess I didn’t do any yo’s?! Don’t know whats up with that, but, whatever. The ribbon will work, i’ll go to Jo Anne’s on thursday or something.
Got a hold f the pattern for Toby’s romper thing, trying to figure out if I can do the math to size it down. It is sized for 9, 12, 18 months and I want a 3 mo.

So, I’ve never had a May Baby before. What do I knit him? How do you knit a sunhat for a baby boy? I think I have a bucket hat pattern somewhere, that would be nice. I have some Shine in green apple someone wanted to get rid of & I haven’t done anything with it yet, I was thinking a romper type thing would be cute for the summer. And a sweater for the fall/winter in a 6-12 mo size, I have the book Style Your Own Kids Knits and will use that to put together what I want. I may try to knit everyone a sweater, but the babys will probably have a button front. Maybe not, actually. I like the look of the pull overs. hm. I’ll decide eventually. Hats for winter, probably a baby bear hat because Jude’s was so cute. Socks! Sometimes it’s cold inside places, and baby won’t wear shoes (we’ll get robeez for winter, they are great for keeping feet warm & socks on). I really don’t like soakers (there is an ick factor, imo, not to mention my wool itch issue, see below) so none of those for my babes.
I don’t know about using wool yarn for sweaters. I always hated mine, and I still do. I am wearing one today, from Old Navy (maternity) that is fine because of the longsleeve shirt underneath, but when I wore it with only a tank underneath (on a much warmer day) OH The ITCHINESS. ick. I also had a headband that I can’t wear (my sister took off home with it & I haven’t seen it since. heh) because of the itchyness. and it isn’t 100% wool.

I couldn’t make it to the SOWs Christmas Party in December, but I did send off yarn so I could participate in the sock yarn swap. I went to get my yarn today, finally, and had two to choose from. It was a tough decision, since neither were something I would automatically purchase for myself. I am all about the blues and I had a green and a purple/yellow to choose from. I took about ten minutes to make up my mind and ended up with Jitterbug in the Velvet Leaf colorway
The other yarn, was from Spunky Eclectic yarns, was very pretty & named Iris. But I already have a couple of sock yarns with a little yellow, so I went for something different. Green. And not so much varigated as I typically grab. I wonder what sock it’ll grow up to be??? … someday

I have been knitting my socks, with the goal to finish them this month. there isn’t much to go, a few inches I guess? maybe four? I haven’t measured. No point in photos right now, I will finish them up then post pictures.
I finished knitting I think 15-16 things last year, that is a rough count - what is on ravelry. I started plenty more and have lots of WIPs and things "On Hold" I have been homeschooling almost a full year now, and thats been a lot of fun. My knit goals for 2008 include finishing my first pair of socks, and a felted project (a bag for me, possible a diaper bag?!).
My daughter is currently walking around talking into a transformers voice changer helmet, and i must get her to bed. So. No more posts unless there is something finished, good plan?! Wait for me, I’ll be back.
