[Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 4:22 am

My daughter pulled the scarf  for mom off the needles trying to knit it herself, and picking up stitches in Fun Fur? Yeahhhh I would rather start it over, I’m not that far into it & it knits up fast at least.

I’ve been knitting dads scarf a lot. Just worked on moms tonight for the first time in over a week.

[Finally Finished] — Aishy @ 7:54 pm

I haven’t ever knit a ribbed hat before, and this was my second adult sized hat. I love it, absolutely love it. It feels good/not itchy, and it looks nice. If I do the pattern again (likely) I will convert it to ‘in the round’ though.

Here is a photo : dadsht

I’m working on a scarfto go with, as well as one to go with moms hat.

Christmas knitting update [on the needles] — Aishy @ 2:02 am

I’ve started moms scarf & have the stuff for dads sitting right here. I have to make my goal of 18,000 words before I can knit, so I am working on that. Well. I was. I have not continued the decreases on dads hat since I started working on them at Knit Night. See, here is the thing, I almost messed up THERE and kept getting confused (cause we were talking, of course). So I am saving that for tommorow morning during the boys Sunday School classes. Ari stays home with daddy, so I get knitting time. I usually use it to work on moms shawl, but I am not as concerned about finishing that as quickly as I am about the gifts they knew I was working on :P

My Ravelry shirt & buttons arrived yesterday, I plan on wearing my shirt tommorow, Yes, to Mass. With Jeans. I almost always wear jeans/tshirt to mass, except Holidays/special occasions (Baptism anyone?). So. yeah. I’m pretty much the only one at my church who always dresses for comfort, but it’s important to me to BE comfortable, I am going to be ME. rather than dress how anyone else wants to. I kind of have an i don’t care what you think attitude about it in a lot of ways.

But, that really has nothing to do with knitting, right ?! So back to knitting. Uhm. The kids requested knit dragons, a knit ball, etc so as soon as these gifts are done I will wrap them up & focus on stuff for the littles.

I bought those 4 skeins of the bamboo yarn, with the thought that I would knit a summer top for myself (I don’t wear tanks, so something with little sleeves at least) so I am going to work on that. I know there was a nursing top on knitty once, I should see if it would work with that particular yarn. And if I even like it.  Mostly I don’t wear special nursing clothes.

better get back to my writing, i just hit 17k. yay.

Christmas Knitting [Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 8:10 pm

Normally I don’t advocate thinking about Christmas so early, but when it comes to gifts that is a little different. You can’t do EVERYTHING in December. Like, Knitting, for example. I do not like to do many knit gifts, I certainly don’t only do knit gifts, but this year I will be doing a few knit gifts. My father & mother are getting hats, and possibly scarves if I can get them done. It is November 7th. The stupid radio station has already started playing christmas music round the clock (it’s TOO EARLY FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I have 47 days to go until Christmas Eve. Luckily we see MY family on Christmas DAY this year.

[Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 4:38 am

for those who don’t know, november is National Novel Writing Month - http://www.nanowrimo.org - I participate every year (this is my 7th year). So only a little knitting happens in November, cause, obviously 50,000 words on top of raising four children is a lot. But I am addicted. I love it. I will do it again and again. I originally said I wouldn’t do it this year as it is our first year homeschooling, but I just couldn’t resist. I’m doing it. And since i’m still up from halloween fun, i’m going to get a midnight start. So just for this month? Weekly updates about what I haven’t knit, and what my word count is.
