I am now forced to write up the pattern for arabeth. my lovely marsha found out her baby number three is a GIRL! How exciting. So, I have to knit arabeth in size 3-6 months for baby C.
I dont want to do much unisex knitting, so I can’t knit for my own baby for a few months yet (reason to get ultrasound? To knit for baby before it is born, of course!) so I’ll knit for M’s instead. Too bad my finger hurts. bah. Not to mention the nausia and general busy-ness of life with four kids/homeschoolin. and, if you haven’t noticed, i’m EXHAUSTED these days. baby building is hard work.

I have not felt like knitting lately. I had an infection on my finger, and so I avoided anything that made it feel horrible. I am on antibiotics for it now, so it’s feeling better. Maybe I’ll knit this morning during Sunday school for the kids. We’ve kept so busy this month with things for them - field trips & classes & the park. We’re going to lay off it a bit in November, since I do nanowrimo every year. We’ll probably do more backyard than the park since I have the laptop and can write while they play. Of course we won’t skip their classes (PE on Tuesdays, Art on Thursdays, Tae Kwon Do for K. on both T & T) and we’ll probably do park days too, once a week. I’ll knit there. Still trying to process the baby thing, feeling very strongly/hopeful that it is another girl. I have some yarn for a baby bolero, in pink, that I bought in August. So I’ll be knitting that for sure and hoping I can use it for this one. Though, how often is a May baby going to wear any kind of sweater here? What else can I knit for a baby born in the spring????? This is so not what i’m used to. And five? FIVE. just sounds insane.

I KNOW that is the question on everyones mind.
The answer is, No. I did not. I started two, got maybe an inch done on one of them, less on the other, and had zero knitting time the past few days. We had a super busy week, Tuesday we spend out of our house and that is the day I got them going really well. Wednesday the baby got her cast off so we returned to homeschool park day, then I had dance class. I did knit a little at the park but I had to stop to count my kids frequently (or help someone with someone. or see how high my son climbed in the tree and make sure he didn’t need help - not that I was about to climb that tree). Thursday was art & shopping for Ari’s party, I was planning on knit time as well, but my mother-in-law needed some help at her house so I was over there cleaning. Friday we had the Civil War schooldays field trip. Today was A’s birthday. The hats were a GREAT idea, had I started them sooner. But who can predict busy weeks when they have 4 kids ?! Not to mention health issues - I have a problem with my finger/nail I need to see the Dr for (AGAIN) this week and it *HURTS* and the morning sickness is kickin’ in well this week, during my prime knit time (late night) and I am exhausted. allthetime.
So tommorow is Sunday, which means church & sunday school, guess who stays home with daddy now? And guess who knits while all the boys are in their classes? Lets focus on the positive and i’ll just look forward to that.
ETA I ran to Sams after Mass and grabbed 3 $5 sleepers and a box of wipes (9 thinks inside) for the shower. I also didn’t stay for the shower because I wasn’t feeling good, ended up napping all afternoon. I would like a nap now, please.

I haven’t put up much "stashed" yarn on Ravelry, but I put my own dyed yarn ‘It’s Spring, Baby’ up recently. I didn’t bother putting up my Acero because I cast on with it so quickly. I am basically putting up yarns as I purchase them, and not bothering with the other stuff.
I am going to a baby shower on Sunday, it is for a Parish Ministry, the Gabriel Angel Project, my plan is to bring three hats - a girls size 3-6 months, and 2 boys 0-3 months (the girl is born already, the boys are not). But I have not yet started on them. I need to start today. I don’t know what to give in addition to the hats, we just paid mortgage so we are broke this week, gotta love that.
I’m gonna call E and bug her about coming to knit tommorow evening, I also need to remind my husband that I want to go knit. His mom was bit by a brown recluse so while we will be at her house, I can not ask her to help with the kids much as she has to stay still (she has seen a dr/gotten the meds she needs), so he needs to be home on time !

The shawl is knitting up beautiful, I really will take some photos soon. The greeen I was iffy about in the skein? Looks amazing knit in with the other colors. It is SO perfect for my mom, a longtime friend said the same when she saw me working on it at homeschool PE today. The socks are on hold till I figure out what to do about the needle.
OH i remember what i was going to post about, I lost two projects. A sweet baby cap & my multidirectional scarf. Now. They are probably just in the bottom of a bag somewhere. but. Where???
Off to knit & read & relax & then sleep.

I am not positive HOW my needle got bent, but my socks have been in teh car and it was likely either stepped on, or something heavy was put on it. It is one of my sock needles, sz 2 Knit Picks. I wentto knit on them last night and hubba wha ? I didn’t try to knit with it bent like that. I may see if my father-in-law can help me get it back straight without taking the socks off the needle! Or if someone from the SOWs has a size 2 at least 32" circ from knit picks I can borrow that would work too.
Obstacles. Life is full of em. I’m not happy about the most recent surprise in our life.
Also? Started a shawl for my mom this weekend with my brooks farms Acero. Loving it.
