I can’t write the good stuff up as well as others can, so it is a good thing my latest yarny activities were with the Sisters. On Saturday we dyed yarn, jeanette and sterling. I only did one skein of Jeanette. Links to others blogs at the end of this so you can get an idea of what all we did. And I’ll post a photo of mine later, I used blue & yellow wanting a spring-y colorway. It is really pretty, reminds me of the blue sky, bright yellow sun, and freshly growing grass. Just what I wanted. I totally had spring on my mind Saturday morning.
Then? At our regular Tuesday Knit Night we had the ladies from Brooks Farms out to where we meet at. And wow. Thats about all I can say. I walked in, a little late as the traffic was crazy and my husband had a hard time getting home, and there were baskets of yarn set up on the tables in "Our corner" Everyone was either going through it or sitting and knitting with their choices beside them ready to purchase. I had purposely gone with no money, no cash, so I couldn’t spend any. But of course, they were ready to take credit cards. Figures, right? So I ended up with one skein of acero which will be turned into a simple shawl for my mother. I’ll post a photo of that later too.
My socks are coming along, i am just working my way down the foot. I knit a baby bonnet this weekend that i’m thinking is like, preemie sized. I might take it to church and try it on a new baby girl (she is around a month old) this weekend. haha. I didn’t use a pattern for it but I jotted down what I did so I could do another one, and I will make it a little bigger. One of the very first things I tried to knit, before I knew what gauge was and even before I was purling properly, was a baby bonnet. I probably still have that around somewhere!

One last link for you, here are photos that Bookgrump took of the brooks farm visit. Yarn!!
My husband had found it on the floor (baby probably - she puts em on her dolls) & put it on top of the boxes of yarn - if I ever closed the Television amoure (did i spell that right?) doors I would have seen it sooner. He didn’t realize that he had found the one I have been looking for.
And yes, I will have photos of everything soon. We rearranged the living room furniture so I have to take some more pictures then I will spend some time editing (resizing) & uploading.
not much. i finished & gifted one gnome & hat. lost the other hat - maybe it is at my in-laws ? i’ll go by sometime tommorow and check. i need to sew up the other gnome & mail it off, along with the lost hat! and i do not have enough of the yarn to knit another hat, so i must find it.
i’m working on the socks. slowly slowly says the little turtle. i will win the race. what race ? i hope i wear them, considering all the work that is going into them - and the other sock yarn i’ve purchased. cause so far i put them on and they feel weird. i’m REALLY picky about socks feeling just so. eek. maybe i’ll get toe help to make sure i have a good well fitting toe. the Sow’s are always good for a little assistance.
I am finally almost done with aaralyn’s headband. then i’ll post pictures & the pattern. ta da. They are matchy, hers and mine. I love having a daughter.
Two years ago I found a pattern online (through a forum I frequent, actually) for a knit-a-long of little gnomes. I knit one, and gifted it. Printed the pattern, haven’t ever completed another one. Till now - I want something to "go with" the hat I am working on so I went searching for the pattern. I couldn’t find my printed copy (I DO still have it, but i’m not sure WHERE I put it) and the webpage is now down. Thanks to the wayback machine - internet archive - I was able to find the pages complete with photos ! and complete the half finished gnome I found while organizing my stash, and start another one to go with the little hat I knit last week. Hoorah!
