Summer Goals [Participating] — Aishy @ 1:48 pm

So, over at Skeins Her Way there is a Pre-summer contest that I just couldn’t pass up. Jeri mentioned it on-list and Julia has already entered. The prize is a cotton yarn, and we all know how I feel about cotton right? So, I’m entering.

My summer goals include - finishing several summer gifts (a knit toy, a mason-dixon kimono and hat to go with, and another surprise i don’t want to talk about here). planning and starting gifts (an august birthday, an october birthday, a january baby). finishing my father and mothers hat and scarf sets before the winter (which, in Texas, gives me till like December if not January). AND figuring out what I want to knit for myself, buying the yarn, and doing it. Because I very rarely knit for myself.

Thats it. Very simple.

knit knit knit [on the needles, Finally Finished] — Aishy @ 1:45 am

I finished the dress over a week ago, it is awesome. I love it. I am working up the pattern. Not sure what i’m doing yet, so I can’t share any photos or anything. But just know, it rocks.

I am working on a block for greensburg. And a baby kimono. Thats it. Of course there are other things here and there, but those are the things i’m actually picking up and knitting on.

Knit Night [on the needles, Two sticks, Some string, And a group of women] — Aishy @ 4:26 am

I didn’t get much knitting in tonight, as A was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I think it’s about time for her to stay with daddy every week, and knitting to be just for me! I did, however, go back today and redo what I was unhappy with on the dress. I am much happier now. and I’m reknitting what I ripped out!

Can’t find my notes but I should be able to do the math again/count stitches on the skirt. right?! right! I should be done with the dress prettttty soon. So exciting.

This Week [on the needles, Two sticks, Some string, And a group of women] — Aishy @ 2:44 pm

I am very much looking forward to knit night, but I say that every week, yes? Tommorow we are going to a brand new bookstore. I was in there with the boys on Friday, and am looking forward to seeing it without my little Ninja running around.

This weekend I mainly knit on the dress. I started shaping for the top, armholes. But the way I cast off makes it look not so pretty in two spots, so I’m planning on going back and trying something else. I should have tried something else right away, I know. But oh well. I am writing this out as I go, and hoping it works. We’ll see. I must must must must must find my notes from the skirt decreases. My husband hasn’t taken the trash from in here out yet, it is very possible the paper made its way in there off the desk. Not by me. Thats all i’m saying.

As I mentioned in this weeks committment to loveliness I plan to at the very least cast on for the socks this week. I had a good hour and a half of quiet this morning, but didn’t feel like knitting.

Another thing i’m working on slowly is yet-another-baby-kimono, knit with cotton tots. I am about 3" up the back right now. I didn’t do anything on it this weekend, it is quiet boring garter stitch vs. the dress with the shaping, and the dres? I get to see on my very own daughter, right away when it is done. Too cool.

Commitment to Loveliness

I’ll be moving anything I ‘didn’t really get to’ or ‘really enjoyed’ from last week on to this week too.

1. Bake something at least once this week. Preferably twice, something sweet & bread.

2. Start my socks, at least cast on for them …

3. Make a ‘just because’ phone call at least once a day (loved this)

4. Add some new kid-art to the ‘clothesline’ in my room.

5. unclutter and organize the living room. Ari doesn’t have a room of her own and her toys have taken over.
