Something New [Participating] — Aishy @ 2:33 pm

Commitment to Loveliness

1. Bake something at least once this week. Preferably twice, something sweet & bread.

2. Make signifcant knitting progress on Arabeth (the dress, not the baby)

3. Make a ‘just because’ phone call at least once a day - and to my husband or mother doesn’t count because I do that frequently anyway!

4. Add some new kid-art to the ‘clothesline’ in my room.

5. Clean off the cluttered kitchen counter. Again. It always brightens up my day to have all that counter space back, but it always becomes the hot spot.

just an update [on the needles] — Aishy @ 1:02 pm

I don’t have much to report, i’ve been working on the dress. Normally you would get some in progress pictures right about now, but, without a camera I can not do that. I have done the skirt, the middle section with the stripes, and started the top yesterday but did something wrong and had to frog back. I will continue with it today while doing laundry.

I also plan to finish my moms hat today/tonight during the bachelor. It is on the DPNs ready for the decreases.

I started a kimono with cotton tots for a friends baby who is due in July. I will be doing a hat to match.

Excited about knit night tommorow, my friend might be able to come with. we’ll see.

Random Knit Facts About Me [Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 1:42 pm

1. I sometimes procrastinate starting a project because I find casting on so tedious.

2. I prefer to not use patterns and find myself deviating from them all the time when I do use them.

3. I prefer to hand wind my balls of yarn, I don’t like the look of the wound cakes. Though I have never knit from one.

4. I frog back but i’m the queen of twisted stitches when I do this. Someday maybe i’ll get it right.

5. My all time favorite thing to knit is hats, especially baby hats, because they go quickly, are easy to grab and go, don’t require a pattern, and are so cute.

6. I love stitchmarkers homemade with beads.

7. My favorite color is blue, often the colorways I choose have blue in them.

8. Yes, we do have hand knit christmas ornaments on our tree. I knit them in 2002 (the year I learned to knit).

9. My yarn stash isn’t necessarily the best, most expensive yarns, but it’s mine. And I can knit with it. And it’s not all acrylics.

10. My list of UFOs and what I want to knit’s are always growing.

Sorry it has been so long [on the needles] — Aishy @ 8:48 pm

When no one was sick anymore we went on vacation. And I was working hard on a projet for an online swap, which I finally completed. Then I decided to start knitting the dress I designed/am designing still for my daughter. So I have been knitting, though only a little. Biggest thing on the needles right now is that dress, I am using Berroco Touche, I’ve heard cotton dresses are heavy we’ll see how it goes … ha. I’m so smart. The colors are so pretty though.

I continue to occasionally knit on mom and dads hats, but they are kind of on the back burner as it won’t be cold here again until at least December, maybe November if we have an unusual year, right ? so yeah.

What else. I am going to do a kimono and hat for my friends baby who is due in July. They live in washington, so a cotton kimono should be perfect. I need to purchase the yarn for that, I haven’t found what I want yet (I know what I want, I haven’t found it to purchase yet).

I really want to knit something for me, last time I was at simpatico I found a pattern of something I really like, but I forgot the name of it. I will have to try to make it over there by myself so I can look better. I believe it is in a Nashua yarns pattern book, Katie. I always think of you when I see that yarn!
