Been Sick [Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 6:44 pm

SO not much knitting is getting done. I did start the two circ socks, did three rounds, and i’m going to check my gage, pull it out, and start over with the proper cast on ; )  BUT I did get the hang of the actual knitting part and the yarns weren’t all tangly after that and it was pretty cool how it works.

I’ve been working slowly on dads hat, a row here and there but no significant progress. With the homeschool prep I’m having to do at night there really isn’t as much ME time as I would like. Sad but true. Someday my children will be grown, and i’ll knit a lot more. right?

Well if you must know [Since it doesn't belong anywhere else] — Aishy @ 2:52 pm

I am totally using my knit blog, to enter a contest

How would a Pink Nintendo DS Lite make me a cool hip mom?! Well. It’s Nintendo brand, and you can’t go wrong with nintendo, it’s like instant coolness. And I would stop using the boys DS(es, how do you make this one plural?!) which would totally rock in there world. "MOM thats MINE!" They like to yell. And I return with a whine, "but mommys gba isn’t backlit!" Not to mention the cool games I can’t play because they are for DS only, but I don’t get into that with them.

Now all the knitters of the world think I am nuts, because I totally want something that would eat into my precious little knitting time. But hey, i’m young (and hip? Maybe if I had a pink DS…), i’ve got time for it all.

[on the needles] — Aishy @ 3:45 am

It is raining. A lot. I am sitting here, knitting on the hat for my daddy (loving this patons chunky wool) and listening to the rain.

More pictures to come, I pulled the box and bags from under my bed the other night.

okay here is the next photo post [yummy yarn] — Aishy @ 1:45 pm

Sorry for how long it has taken me to get to this one after the other, though really it hasnt been that long - and its not like anyone was holding their breath for it.

We’ll start with these ones. I kind of grouped as I photographed. Some are whole skeins, some are half - not all were used by me originally, I got them from others (always accept yarn, it’s nice to work with different ones even if it is just enough for a swatch). These are the suede type stuff.

Two skeins of simply soft bought to make something that didn’t. work out. maybe i’ll figure it out someday!

These all feel different/cool. I was thinking about doing a small blanket with squares of different textured yarns as a future baby gift. Has anyone ever done this? Tell me how it worked out. The green is leftover from my nephews sweater

A shot of a bunch of the yarn laid out before I started seperating/grouping it.

The woolease that is leftover from my mother-in-laws fingerless gloves.

My knit picks mainline, I believe it is going to be a baby/tod hat with earflaps. I also had pink and brown (1 skein of each) but gave them to a friend who recently learned to knit.

This is a cotton, khaki sh colorway. the third skein is actually in a project started, but i hate the needles (plastic 16" sz 7). Must replace them with clovers and start over. Soon, it’s a summer thing.

My fun furs. Some designated for something, some not.

This is a halfskein from someone at knitnight, she said she made a long skinny scarf with it and it came out nice.

More fun fur - this is for moms scarf to match her hat.

My pink yarn my motherinlaw brought back from France. It is a 50 wool/50 acrylic blend. She said she couldn’t find any 100% wool.

Patons grace, don’t know what it is going to be yet.

A hat for Ari! Must get to work on that.

This is being used for a poncho for Ari, but I am really bored with it. I don’t mind mindless knitting when it is in the round, but when it is back and forth I have a harder time with it.

My last knit picks order. Uhm. Christmas present. that I ordered myself, wrapped myself, and labeled from my husband ;)

My cottons.

Okay, that is all for now.

WIPs and UFOs [on the needles] — Aishy @ 4:22 pm

Since I had to organize my yarn anyway, I decided to share photos. This is what I have in my living room/knitting bag. There is more in the bedroom, but I haven’t pulled that out yet. It will come later. I’ll start with UFOs and WIPs. And do another post for the leftover and stash yarns.

All of it laid out ready to be organized

Probably my oldest UFO / WIP - a wool ribbed scarf.

This toddler size hat will soon have a matchy scarf, probably for A but possibly a gift, we’ll see. Despite the blue my husband sys it is girlie girlie girlie.

This next one started out as a washcloth - one of the state ones, but I let it sit with two rows done and realized I wasn’t ever going to finish that. So it will be a kimono, going with my new year knitting goals (and that is another post in itself). It also happens to be my January UFO, but is it in my knitting bag? No. Woops. Must remedy that, pull it from the box it ended up in, and get it in the knitting bag.

Yet another UFO - was going to be  a mary jane hat, but I just hate those plastic needles. I’ll likely rip this one out. The yarn is a sport weight of something, wool ease I think, I am not a big fan of sport weight and gave the rest of what I had bought to my sister. As far as I know she hasn’t used it and therefore has a stash of her own.

The infamous sock, another that will likely never be finished/will be ripped out. In fact, I would love to trade the ball of sock yarn (no label, forget the name - something german - one makes two socks) for 2 balls of sock yarn. Anyone?? I have negative associations with this colorway.

A secret project that is taking my much too long as I lost my pattern notes, must print those out again. Yarn is berrocco touche. The light pink in that photo was/is used for the bunny ear hats.

Just a random scarf I started while bored one night. red suede and one of the dollar spot target yarns knit together. Not sure if I like it. May pull this out too.

And a Mason Dixon ballband - done because everyone else was doing them and they were so pretty. Stitches got twisted and are a pain and I haven’t continued with it yet. Someday. Till then, it’s in the UFO pile.

The crayon (knit picks) squares slippers. These just got boring, I should work on them I guess.

Porcupine made by suggestion with the mr. brown (was that the name?) freebie yarn. I got about halfway and got bored. Again. UFO. Are you keeping track here?

The hat I am working on for mom, will have a matching fun fur scarf - by request !

And the yarn for the scarf/hat for dad. Speaking of, I just realized where my sz 10 interchangables are at. They. Are knitting in a WIP that is in the car. Nice. I guess I better work on that quickly …
