[Two sticks, Some string, And a group of women] — Aishy @ 3:45 am

Today the moms knitting group got together again, we’ve done pretty good about getting together about twice a month now, hopefully we’ll keep that up ! It was fun, the kids played really well together and we discussed patterns and yarn and knit and ate and talked. My friend that started the hat on Monday finished it today, that was exciting. Her first finished project. She also started a baby bib to match.

[on the needles] — Aishy @ 5:08 pm

I didn’t knit for about a week, but i’m back at it. I’m currently working on a wool-ease baby kimono, sized up a bit from the nb size. We’ll see how that works out. I am using size 8 needles, chunky yarn, and knit up 6" before starting the sleeves. Started those yesterday.

I also have been casting on SLOWLY for something I am desiging for Aaralyn (it is for next summer). It needs a lot of stitches cast on, and i’m using the knit cast-on (two needle cast-on). Using Berroco Touche for that.

Helped a friend get started on a baby hat in the round yesterday, I should find my DPNs and drop them off for her to borrow today for her decreases. She already had almost 4" last night. Woohoo. Shes been working on her scarf & it is about halfway done, she got through one skein. Awesome. Trying to get her to join me at knit night, maybe next week she’ll make it. OH. Darn. I won’t even make it next week, cub scouts thing.

Anyway I’m actually not knitting right now, I am cleaning, but I plan on knitting this afternoon since we’ll be at my parents for awhile.

Knit night & moms knittin’ playgroup [Two sticks, Some string, And a group of women] — Aishy @ 2:24 am

Tuesday is always knit night. I found this group of women on the knitters review boards back in July and I love em. Last night we had a small group, but it was still fun. I knit on a baby hat all evening - mindless is good. Todays group was even smaller. The kids had fun, one of the mamas nearly finished her first big project, and the other one worked on a soaker. Me? I did a little of the mindless hat, a little of a small wool scarf I started years ago, and a little on the hedgehog. The four hours flew by and when it was time to go I wasn’t really ready to go but hey what can you do ???

In Progress & getting started [on the needles] — Aishy @ 10:10 pm

I pulled out my free bernat disco mr. brown & started the blue’s hedgehog. I’m thinking I’ll be knitting up four of these. How fun. I’m doing this first brown one, I’ll do another with a different yarn color face, and then one with black fun fur, and one with. Pink. I’m not going out and buying these yarns … they are scraps :P

I have a baby hat on my size 8 16" circs, I need to get it knit up and free up my needles!

And If I finish picking up my room before knit night (every tuesday, different places) I’ll be casting on for the baby bonnet I’m going to do to match Anouk (leftover yarn).

Last weeks FO [Finally Finished] — Aishy @ 4:55 pm

Anouk, from knitty several years ago. I really liked this pattern when it came out, however at the time I didn’t have a little girl to knit for. While pregnant with Aaralyn someone from a knitting list I am on sent me some Fantasy Naturale yarn - 3 skeins of varigated girlish yarn - and as I was trying to decide what to knit with it I came across Anouk again. Of course! So I knit it up, it took me months, just over six to be exact. But I got it finished, right as it fits her best, and that is the most important thing. I did do the tabs with two button holes so it can grow with her. And the best part is in Texas the warm weather lasts so long that she can wear it with just a onsie for months & months, then when we get our two weeks of cooler weather (i’m exaggerating a *tiny* bit) she can wear it with a long sleeve onsie and some tights or jeans. It’s already been worn over jeans (random cooler day recently) and it looks mega-cute.

Okay enough rambling, here are the photos, Anouk on it’s own just after blocking & Anouk on the most beautiful baby girl I know.
